Project Partner: Shishu Sarothi

This new project works with Shishu Sarothi, an Indian not-for-profit organisation working to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities. They have a long track record in the area of early intervention, education, livelihoods, advocacy and awareness as well as protection of rights and legal aid for children and persons with disabilities in North-East India. The NGO is based in the capital city of Assam, Guwahati. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in the fields of child protection and care for persons with disabilities with an established NGO in India. This role is an internship position with volunteers to be placed subject to their skills and experiences within Shishu Sarothi’s departments.

Skills required: Experience or knowledge of child protection and/or social work, general administration, training, psychology, vocational skills and IT skills. Volunteers will work in support roles and not in lead roles with vulnerable children or adults.
